Special Education Teacher in an Integrated Setting (SCIS): This position is an Exempt Direct-Care category and follows the Center-based School Calendar, (212-days).The Special Education Teacher in an Integrated setting (SCIS) is responsible to develop and provide specialized instruction to meet the needs of each child in the class according to his/her/their IEP in all areas of development while implementing curriculum that is compatible with the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards and the New York State Early Learning Guidelines. In addition, the teacher is responsible for ongoing evaluation and assessment of the student’s progress toward instructional objectives and coordination of the delivery of special education services as per the IEP.We require a master's Degree, NYS Professional Certification in Special Education/students with disabilities from birth to 2nd grade or equivalent, and a NYS Professional Certification in Early Childhood Education Birth to 2nd grade or equivalent, with 1-3 years’ experience.
