TITLE: SECONDARY SPECIAL ED TEACHER Certified Position10-Month School Calendar, up to 10 summer days Affiliation: Teacher’s AssociationP-TECH Academy Location: P-TECH, TC3 CampusP-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) offers an integrated high school and college curriculum emphasizing technology and STEAM through a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach. Students gain both academic knowledge and workplace readiness, including soft skills and internship experience. Graduates earn a high school diploma and an accredited associate’s degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3).DUTIES:Provide tailored instruction and adaptive strategies for students with learning, mental, emotional, or physical disabilities, focusing on college and career readiness skills such as time management and study habits. Work with general education teachers, college instructors, and industry mentors to develop and implement integrated curriculum that supports student success across high school and college coursework. Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to track progress and provide individualized support for students with disabilities, ensuring they meet academic and personal goals. Utilize formative and summative assessments to guide instructional plans, adapting teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of P-TECH students. Create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, including those with disabilities, ensuring equitable access to the P-TECH program's opportunities for work-based learning and associate degrees. Foster critical skills like collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and literacy to prepare students for success in the workplace and postsecondary education. Required to maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations.Performs other duties as required and assigned by supervisor including speaking with our business partners.QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold New York State Teacher Certification in SWD 7-12 Generalist OR SWD grades 7-12 OR Permanent K-12 Special Education Teaching Certification. Preferred Qualifications: Flexible, innovative and “out-of-the-box” thinker, a strong collaborator and effective team member and a passion for alternative education models and restorative practices.START DATE: As soon as possibleSALARY: $56,500.00 (2025-2026 base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Masters Degree and Grad Credits.
