DUTIES: Provide direct instructional services to students under the general supervision of a NYS certified teacher. Small or large group instruction, technology support, student support, skill development, clinical assistance, classroom supervision, record keeping, preparation for state test, community partner communications, and internship assistance. In collaboration with the teacher, maintain all necessary records, pupil and program record keeping and adhere to all mandated services for students Individual Education Plans. This position will be specifically located in the TC3/P-TECH Makerspace Workshop and will require a functional knowledge of several CNC-type machines including vinyl cutters, heat press, laser cutter, water jet cutter, and plasma cutter, as well as various wood and steel working tools.Desired Traits include: Student friendly, good communication, collaborative, patience, open-minded, student supportive, comfortable working with a diverse student population, organized, trustworthy, energetic, attentive, professional and ability to work additional contracted hours as neededQUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teaching Assistant Certificate Level 1, 2, 3 or Pre-Professional required. The setting is working with high school aged students in both the classroom and lab setting. Familiarity with classroom routine, ability to communicate effectively and dependability are critical characteristics. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position; must be able to lift 40 pounds.
