TITLE: ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR – ESL (English as a Second Language)Hourly Position: Up to 19 hours/per week maximum (Instructional + Preparation time)Location: TC3 Commons Building – Tioga Place, Ithaca, NY. Work Schedule: To be determined. DUTIES:Provide English as a Second Language instruction to adults of varying cultural and educational backgrounds, using creative, student-centered, needs-based ESL approaches and techniques.Plan daily lessons, activities, and student assessments.Align instruction with College and Career Readiness Standards, English Language Proficiency Standards and include Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education.Integrate technology into planning and instruction.Monitor and document student progress at appropriate levels.Keep accurate student attendance records and class rosters, as required by New York State.Attend a minimum of 14 hours of staff development annually.Other pertinent duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required; ESL preferred. New York State Teaching Certification & experience teaching ESL or Reading preferred. Must possess or obtain NYS Adult Ed Instructor Certification within 3 months of hire.START DATE: September 16, 2024SALARY: $33.01 per/hour.
