TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL SUPERVISOR (Designated Principal) Full Time – 12-month position Certified Position Administrative Contract Location: Regional Alternative School Regional Alternative School BOCES Campus, D-Building The Regional Alternative School (RAS) is a small-scale high school located on the TST BOCES campus. Each year, we welcome a cohort of students from our component school districts that are looking for something different than the traditional high school experience. RAS delivers with a prioritized curriculum, engaging instructional approach, and individualized attention and connection with each student. POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a highly skilled, innovative, and passionate educator to serve as the Instructional Supervisor (Principal) of the school. The successful candidate will oversee the vision and mission of RAS and inspire staff, students, and caregivers through dynamic leadership and a clear vision for educational excellence. The qualified candidate will be versed in restorative practices, the Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Educational Framework, and trauma-informed teaching practices. They will demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, systems thinking, and adaptability to meet community needs. This position reports to the Director of Exceptional Education. DUTIES: • Provide leadership and supervision for programs serving High School students in Alternative Education programs, including the regional GED program. • Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluation of teaching and support staff. • Lead curriculum and instructional programming focused on NY Inspires. • Communicate with parents, school districts, and community partners to support student success. • Work cooperatively with component school districts and families to provide unique educational programs for a diverse student population. • Responsible for program development, staffing, fiscal management, supervision, and other administrative tasks as required. QUALIFICATIONS: NYS School Administration Certification (SAS, SBL, SDA or SDL) is required. At least five (5) years of experience in the secondary classroom, preferably working with At-Risk and/or Special Education students. Must possess strong collaborative, communication and organizational skills. Leadership experience in school and community will need to be demonstrated. Previous experience as a principal is preferred, but not required. START DATE: July 1, 2026 SALARY RANGE: $87,550-103,000, Excellent benefit package.
