The Physical Therapist assumes primary responsibility for providing services for children needing evaluation and/or remediation in the different areas of Physical Therapy. This position is $75.00 per hour, Monday and Tuesdays 8:00am - 3:00pmDuties & Responsibilities:Utilizes standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess children’s strengths and deficits in Physical Therapy and prepares written evaluation reports as part of the Annual Review Process.Implements treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention around PT.Provides consultation to classroom staff in the areas of a child’s performance problems.Reviews and reports on student progress.Participates actively as a member of the school’s interdisciplinary therapeutic team meetings.Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.Refers children for additional necessary consultations and medical evaluations when necessary.Submits all reports in a timely manner.Submits updates and IEP goals in PT for annual reviews, requested reviews and graduating children.Maintains daily records of student progress.Provides guidance and workshops to families to enhance the development of skills at home.Provides physical “hands-on” intervention when necessaryPerforms other duties as neededEducation & Experience Knowledge of current testing materialsNew York State License in Physical TherapyMS/MA in Physical TherapyExperience in Pediatric Evaluation/TreatmentComplete the mandatory 2 hours of training in child abuse and maltreatment identification, reporting, and prevention as well as the requirements of applicable statutes and regulations.Complete 15 hours of training every 24 months, including the mandatory child abuse prevention and other subjects related to child health, safety, and early childhood development (Child Care Article 47 providers only)
