Job Summary:The Bilingual Social Worker provides regularly scheduled I.E.P. mandated counseling services for students and acts as the communication liaison between home and school for Spanish speaking families. Works as part of a team to provide the appropriate services the child, family and staff needs.Duties & Responsibilities:Provide I.E.P. mandated services to the students and familiesServe as member of the interdisciplinary team and provide ongoing clinical consultation with staffTakes an active part in Annual Review process with district C.S.E.’s through written reports, recommendations and presentationsActively participates in Team meetings, Faculty meetings, and Parent-Teacher-Counselor meetingsProvide outreach services to familiesIntervenes in crisis situations as neededCommunicates with agencies and professionals concerning students on caseloadServe as the communication liaison between home and school for Spanish speaking familiesAssist faculty and staff in communicating general information to our Spanish speaking families via phone and writingFacilitate communication between school nurse and Spanish speaking families for both emergency and routine medical mattersProvide translation support for written communication between school and home (i.e., memos, field trip information, educational evaluations, IEP goals, etc.)Assist Clinical Administrator in offering verbal or written invitations to Spanish speaking families for admission tours and setting up the logistics for toursAssist Clinical Administrator by participating in and translation services for Spanish speaking families during tours/intakes; both virtual and in-personEducation & ExperienceMaster’s Degree in Social Work.NYS Social Work LicenseOne (1) year counseling experience with children and families.Must be Bi-Lingual
