The Speech and Language Pathologist assumes primary responsibility for providing services for children needing evaluation and/or remediation for speech and language deficits. Bilingual therapy is provided in Spanish and English as needed.Duties & Responsibilities:Implement treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention in the area of speech and language development.Utilize standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess students’ strengths and deficits and prepares written evaluation reports as part of the intake process.Develop IEP goals and objectives for students evaluated in the intake process. Provide consultation to classroom staff in the area of speech and language. Perform audiometric screenings as needed.Refer children for additional audiological consultations and medical evaluations when necessary.Submit updates and IEP goals in speech for annual reviews, requested reviews and graduating children.Provide guidance and workshops to parents in order to enhance the development of speech and language skills in the homeEducation & ExperienceNew York State Speech Pathology LicenseNew York State Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing HandicappedNew York State Bilingual Extension Certificate (for Bilingual Therapists)Experience with language impaired children.
