As part of OLAS for K-12 Education's service, we maintain a directory of experienced school building leaders that are available for interim principal assignments with participating schools and districts across New York state and the surrounding areas of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. These experienced school building leaders play a critical role in ensuring a smooth transition during the search for a permanent principal and have varied responsibilities as defined by the participating school or district with the need. Responsibilities for the role of interim principal, may include but are not limited to: Support District’s vision, mission, and goals as it aligns with student achievement and successOversee daily school operations Conduct classroom observations and provide teacher feedback Support professional development for teachers and staffFoster a positive, inclusive school culture Build school, district and community relationships Utilize data to drive instructional decisions Qualifications for the role of interim principal, may include but are not limited to: NYS School Administrator Certificate (SDL/SDA) or pending reciprocity Previous experience as a successful school principal Ability to develop a cohesive building administration team Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong and definitive decision-making skills Knowledge of educational trends and best practices Note: This posting is not an offer of employment.
