Malverne School District anticipates full time, probationary teaching position in the Science Department for the 2025-2026 school year.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in physics and or/engineeringValid NYS teaching certification in PhysicsRobotics experience preferredCoding experience for robotics preferred (Java, Python or equivalent)Full NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Plan and deliver engaging, academically rigorous physics and engineering lessons aligned with NYSSLS and progressive pedagogical philosophy.Implement curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices.Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities.Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians.Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport.Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels.Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Principal, or other appropriate administrator.Mentor for the VEX and FIRST Robotics Leagues
