Malverne School District anticipates a part-time mathematics position for the 2023 – 2024 school year. REQUIREMENTS:Valid NYS Teacher certification in Secondary Mathematics EducationGrade 5-6 extension preferred but not requiredFull NYS fingerprint clearanceESSENTIAL DUTIES:Plan and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous Algebra and Math lessons aligned with Malverne’s standards and progressive pedagogical philosophy.Demonstrate mathematical concepts using models, available technology methods, and other standard or teacher-prepared instructional aids.Design learning activities that will relate mathematics to the physical world.Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.Participate in department, school, district meetings, and professional development activitiesFoster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians.Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapportDemonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels.Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Chairperson, Principal, or other appropriate administrators
