Malverne School District anticipates a .6 Special Education position for the 2026-2027 school year. REQUIREMENTS: Valid NYS Teacher certification in Students with Disabilities (1-6) Valid NYS Teacher certification in Students with Disabilities (7-12) Valid NYS Teacher certification in Students with Disabilities (B-2) preferred Full NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Plan and teach specially designed instruction to students with disabilities based on the needs identified on the IEP. This would include integrated co-teaching classes and special education classes. Create IEPs focusing on student strength and developing measurable goals. Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities. Foster and maintain effective communication with parents/guardians/caretakers. Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Chairperson, Principal, or other appropriate administrator.
