The Malverne School District is seeking an innovative and collaborative leader for the position of STEM Supervisor, grades K-12, effective February 1. 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum and programs for grades K-12. This role involves collaboration with educators, administration, and community stakeholders to foster a robust STEM education environment that enhances student learning and prepares them for future academic and career opportunities. Requirements:New York State Certification- SAS, SDA, SBL or SDL required. Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in STEM subjects at the middle or high school level. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster positive. relationships, and the capacity to effectively communicate a clear vision.? Strong understanding of STEM pedagogy and instructional best practices. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Performance Responsibilities:Design, implement, and continuously improve the STEM curriculum and instructional programs. Ensure alignment of STEM programs with NYS Learning Standards. Observe classroom instruction regularly to assess teaching effectiveness and provide constructive feedback aimed at improving pedagogy. Analyze student performance data and use it to guide teachers in refining instructional strategies and interventions. Stay current with emerging trends, research, and best practices in STEM education and integrate them into the school’s programs. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the STEM department. Provide professional development opportunities and resources for STEM teachers to enhance their instructional practices. Mentor and support STEM teachers through coaching, feedback, and collaboration. Promote student engagement and interest in STEM fields through extracurricular activities, competitions, such as FIRST & VEX Robotics, Science Symposiums, etc. Develop and oversee the assessment strategies for STEM programs to ensure they are effective and aligned with learning objectives. Collaborate with school administrators and district leaders to advance STEM education initiatives and secure funding and resources. Manage the budget and resources allocated to STEM programs, ensuring efficient use and accountability. Reports to: The Superintendent of Schools
