Position: Athletic CoordinatorDepartment: AthleticsSupervisor: Director of Student and Family EngagementFLSA Status: ExemptPosition Type: Full/time 10-month + ESY – Benefits EligibleDate Posted: May 1, 2023 Position Summary: The Athletic Director manages all aspects of Lexington’s interscholastic athletic and intramural programs. Responsibilities:Prepare a master budge and sports calendar, and supervise equipment inventoryCoordinate gym, building and athletic field use for practices and games and clearance with appropriate staff membersCommunicate daily with Lexington Faculty and Staff regarding after school scheduleAttend scheduled athletic director meetingsAssist in supervision at home events and attend away special events to show support or drive if necessary (perform other duties as assigned)Disseminate NYSPHSAA materials and enforce NYSPHSAA rules and regulationsCoordinate student-athlete physicals with Health ServicesAssist in the selection of coaches for the athletic program and enforce the coaches’ code of conductCoordinate staffing, supplies, medicals, forms, referrals and bulletin boardSchedule travel arrangements and overnight accommodations, and complete van request formsWork with supervisor of officials for officiating fees for all conference and non-conference games/eventsSecure game supervisors for athletic contests, clock operators, scorekeepers, and securityEvaluate all athletic programs on an annual basis and recommend necessary improvementsPerform other duties as assigned Requirements:Bachelor's degree in physical education, sports management or a related area (Master's degree preferred) with minimum of 3 years of coaching experienceRegistered Athletic Administrator (RAA) Certificate, at a minimum, desiredPossess valid certification in CPR / AED and First AidCompletion of Concussion Management trainingCertified Personal Trainer certification, a plus Special Knowledge/skills:American Sign Language (ASL) proficiencyPosition requires knowledge of NYSPHSAA rules and regulationsEffective communicator (verbal and written) and able to collaborate with colleagues, families, and studentsExcellent organizational and planning skills, attention to detail, and ability to be flexible with work scheduleBasic technology proficiency, including Microsoft 365 and Google applications, and search engines Security Clearance: Required clearances include medical clearance, fingerprinted by the NYC Board of Ed and SCR and SEL clearance.
