Summary: The Digital Media Technology Teacher will use various technology platforms to promote advancement in the field of arts and cultural communications. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESTeach students in all departments: Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, & High SchoolDevelop a rigorous, objective, and standards-driven arts enrichment curriculum inclusive of, but not limited to, arts, theatrical arts, audio/video technology, and communicationsExcellent classroom management skills and provide positive behavior intervention with supportAbility to use technology: Google Drive, PowerSchool, and SchoologyCollaborate with others in the visual arts department, Drama Club, Dance Teacher, etcAttend training to keep current with technology and TV Studio equipmentSupport the school’s Strategic Planning initiatives with an emphasis on strengthening the culture.Perform other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESExcellent classroom management skillsAbility to work collaboratively with colleagues and administratorsDemonstrated knowledge of content areaAbility to establish rapport and build professional relationships with studentsExcellent time management, planning, and organizational skills EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMaster’s degree in special education, Deaf Education, or related fieldExperience providing instruction to students who are deaf and hard of hearingAmerican Sign Language (ASL) proficiency SECURITY CLEARANCERequired clearance include: Medical clearance, fingerprinted by the NYC Board of Ed and SCR and SEL clearance. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerProlonged periods of walking in and around the building Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at times
