Harmony Heights is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Certified Math Teacher to provide instruction in Regents-level mathematics courses for a July 2026 start. Our school serves adolescent students in a supportive, therapeutic environment, and we are looking for an educator who can deliver rigorous academic instruction while meeting diverse learning and emotional needs. Candidates must be able to work 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., M-Fri., Tuesday staff meetings until 4:30 p.m. and a 12-month program. Cover letter, resume along with 3 letters of recommendation may be uploaded to olasjobs.org or sent to theresa.cherba@harmonyheights.org Key Responsibilities: Deep understanding of Algebra I with experience preparing students for the Algebra I regents’ exam Prepare students for success on New York State Regents examinations The ability to teach multiple math content such as Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II Knowledge of Financial or Business Math (as per the NY state standards and Portfolio of a Graduate shifts Differentiate instruction to meet a range of academic abilities and learning styles to include student with learning disabilities Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with IEP goals where applicable Create a structured, supportive classroom environment conducive to learning Monitor and assess student progress; maintain accurate records and documentation Collaborate with staff, clinicians, and administration Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and team members Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification in Mathematics (Grades 7–12 or equivalent) Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred Experience teaching Regents-level math courses Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Skills: Experience working in a special education or therapeutic school setting a plus Ability to motivate and engage students who may struggle academically or emotionally What We Offer: Small class sizes and supportive staff environment Opportunities for professional development Collaborative, mission-driven school community
