Harmony Heights High School has an immediate opening for a full time School Nurse. Harmony Heights is located in East Norwich on the North Shore of Long Island. We are a small state approved special education school for young women grades 8 through 12. Our students suffer with depression, anxiety, school refusal and past trauma. We strive to provide a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment in a therapeutic school community to students who have been unsuccessful in their home school districts. The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing nursing care during the school day, and responding to potential health concerns or emergencies that may arise. The candidate will help coordinate medical concerns and psychiatric supports with families and outside resources as needed. The candidate is responsible for new student Intakes, maintaining NYS Immunization Records, student physicals, and dispensing/documentation of medication as needed. Knowledge of safety standards and certification in AED, CPR and First Aid a must. We follow a school calendar plus a six week summer school program. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (4:30 p.m. on Tuesday). Excellent working conditions. Provide 3 letters of recommendation. Apply on OLAS
