Harmony Heights High School is accepting applications for a Full Time School Nurse with knowledge and experience working with our adolescent population. Harmony Heights High School is located in East Norwich on the North Shore of Long Island. We are a state approved special education school for girls grades 8 through 12. We provide a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment in a therapeutic school community to students who have not been successful in their home school districts. Our school nurse is part of a strong multidisciplinary team. The candidate will provide nursing care to students during the school day, while responding to actual or potential health problems or emergencies that may arise. The school nurse helps to coordinate medical concerns or psychiatric supports with families and outside resources. The school nurse is responsible for new student Intakes, maintaining NYS Immunization Records and student physicals, and dispensing medication as needed. Knowledge of safety standards and certification in AED, CPR and First Aid is a must. We follow a school calendar plus a 6 week summer school program. Hours are 8:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. with an additional hour on Tuesdays for staff meetings. Excellent working conditions. Provide 3 letters of recommendation. LPN or RN should apply.
