The East Ramapo Central School District (Rockland County, New York) is seeking an experienced Business Administrator who values diversity, equity, and inclusion and is positioned to provide outstanding fiscal leadership to a highly complex district with 14 schools, approximately 10,000 public school students, 40,000 private school students, and 1,700 staff members. The successful candidate will have a record of success in financial management and planning for a school district. QUALIFICATIONS • NYS SDA or SDBL Certification • Successful experience as a business leader in a school district • Understanding of regulations and requirements regarding pupil transportation, food service, facilities, Capital Projects, school safety and security, and grants • CPA and/or Accounting Degree preferred PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish procedures to conform to district policy, state and federal requirements for encumbrance, expense accounting and distribution of revenues into proper transportation-related accounts; Supervise the maintenance of regulatory compliance regarding school transportation. Oversee the request for fund transfers between accounts to cover anticipated expenditures and encumber transportation contracts.Ensure contracts are executed in accordance with the NYS Municipal Procurement Law and district policy. Prepares a variety of special reports on district operations at the request of the Board, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and state and federal agencies; Provides supervision and oversight to the transportation and business offices Assists with budget preparationWorks with the business office Accountants to develop plans for long term needs of the transportation department. Upon request, provides fiscal, statistical, and business management information in support of state and federal grant applications for district projects (transportation or other) Assumes all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Business or Superintendent of Schools.
