Job Title: School Counselors (Elementary)Location: East Ramapo Central School District, Spring Valley, NYJob Type: Full-Time (10-Month Position)Position OverviewThe East Ramapo Central School District is seeking dedicated and compassionate Elementary School Counselors. The ideal candidates will support the academic, social, and emotional development of students in grades K–6, ensuring equitable access to counseling services for our diverse student population.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and group counseling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs.Develop and implement programs that promote student well-being and positive school climate.Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success.Assist in the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans as needed.Facilitate communication between the school and families.Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in school counseling.Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district policies and legal requirements.QualificationsValid New York State School Counselor Certification (Initial or Permanent).Fluency in English and either Spanish or Haitian Creole (Preferred).Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.Why Join East Ramapo Central School District?Located in the heart of Rockland County, just 25 miles north of New York City, East Ramapo is a vibrant and diverse community.
