The Elwood UFSD is seeking a highly qualified/certified Elementary Teacher to teach Kindergarten at our Harley Avenue Primary School beginning September 1, 2022. Candidates should be skilled at creating a dynamic student centered learning environment. They should possess strong classroom management skills as well. Recent experience teaching Kindergarten through grade 2 is preferred. The ideal candidate will also possess: • familiarity with the NYS Standards • Knowledge of strategies for teaching early literacy • experience with benchmarking/running records and familiarity with response to intervention strategies • familiarity with the Teachers’ College Reading and Writing Project preferred • ability to provide differentiation for mixed ability students • collaboration/leadership within the building (committees, after school events) Requirements: Current NYS certification as Early Childhood Education (B-2), Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) or Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-6 Candidates representing a diverse background are strongly encouraged to apply Compensation: In accordance with the contract between the District and the Elwood Alliance of Teachers
