Description: The Elwood UFSD is seeking a highly qualified/certified Special Education Teacher for a part-time position (0.5 FTE) at the elementary school level (Grades 3-5) at our James H. Boyd Intermediate School.The candidate must have experience working with special education students with varying disabilitiesRecent experience working with children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities Experience with students that have significant learning and behavioral challengesPossess strong classroom management skills, including managing classroom staff members and behavior management techniquesTraining in instruction using Teachers College Reading and Writing ProjectKnowledge/experience writing IEPs Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of studentsCandidate should have good interpersonal, written/oral communication and organizational skills Requir Requirements: Current NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities 1-6 or equivalent Compensation: In accordance with the agreement between the District and the Elwood Teachers' Alliance Candidates representing a diverse background are strongly encouraged to apply.
