We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dual Language Elementary Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators. Position Overview As a Dual Language Elementary Teacher at Alice E. Grady Elementary, you will play a pivotal role in bridging language and learning. You will deliver high-quality, engaging core curriculum instruction in both English and Spanish, ensuring our bilingual learners thrive academically.. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of elementary pedagogy, a native or near-native fluency in Spanish. Key Responsibilities Curriculum & Instruction: Design and implement daily lesson plans aligned with New York State Next Generation Learning Standards, Language Development: Foster a supportive environment that promotes biliteracy. Assessment: Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student progress, guide instructional decisions, and communicate growth effectively to families. Classroom Culture: Establish a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment Collaboration: Work closely with grade-level peers, ENL teachers, special education staff, and administration to support student success. Qualifications & Requirements Certification: Valid New York State Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and a Bilingual Education Extension (Spanish) . Language Skills: Native or near-native fluency in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Spanish. Experience: Previous teaching experience in an elementary or bilingual/dual-language setting is highly preferred. Skills: Strong classroom management skills, knowledge of structured literacy, and proficiency in integrating technology into daily lessons.
