The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly qualified Elementary School Teacher to join our team.Position SummaryThe Elementary School Teacher is responsible for creating a flexible, safe, and positive classroom environment that promotes high levels of learning and personal growth for all students. This role involves planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a diverse learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic needs.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction and Curriculum:Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of elementary-aged students.Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials to ensure student mastery of core academic subjects.Integrate technology effectively into the curriculum to enhance the learning experience.Assessment:Administer formal and informal assessments to evaluate student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.Analyze student data to inform instruction and modify teaching strategies.Classroom Management:Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom environment that promotes respect and high expectations.Manage student behavior in accordance with school and district policies.Collaboration and Communication:Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior.Collaborate with colleagues, special education staff, and administrators to support the overall educational program.Participate in professional development, grade-level meetings, and school improvement initiatives.QualificationsCertification: Valid New York State Teacher Certification in the appropriate area (e.g., Childhood Education B-2 or 1-6).
