Alexander Hamilton Jr/Sr HS, part of the Elmsford Union Free School District, is seeking a dedicated and passionate special education teacher to join our team. ??Job DescriptionThe special education teacher will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with a wide range of learning needs and disabilities. Key duties include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), adapting curriculum, and using various teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student. The successful candidate will collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. QualificationsNew York State Certification in Special Education is required.Master’s degree in Special Education is preferred.Experience working with students in a junior/senior high school setting is a plus.Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
