Elmsford Union Free School DistrictThe Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a highly motivated and reliable individual for a full-time Maintenance Worker (Leave Replacement) position. This is a provisional appointment lasting until approximately October 2025.Location: Elmsford, NYSalary: Commensurate with experience and Elmsford UFSD salary schedule.Job Description: Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Worker performs a variety of routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort in the maintenance and repair of school buildings and grounds. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for students and staff.Typical Work Activities (Illustrative Only):Performs minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs.Assists in the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.Performs routine groundskeeping tasks such as mowing lawns, raking leaves, and snow removal.Moves and arranges furniture and equipment.Performs cleaning duties as needed, including sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, and cleaning restrooms.Loads and unloads supplies and equipment.Responds to emergency maintenance requests.Operates hand and power tools common to the trade.Maintains simple records of work performed.Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures.Performs other related duties as assigned.
