The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and highly qualified candidate for an Anticipated Elementary Teacher position at Alice E. Grady Elementary School. Grady Elementary serves students in grades 2 through 6 and is committed to optimizing teaching and learning for student achievement within a safe, and nurturing environment.Position DescriptionThe Elementary Teacher will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and engaging educational program that meets the needs of a diverse student population. The ideal candidate will foster a classroom environment that encourages student-focused learning, critical thinking, and mutual respect.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement rigorous, data-driven lesson plans aligned with New York State Learning Standards for all elementary content areas.Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, to address the diverse learning needs of all students.Establish and maintain a positive, well-managed, and student-centered classroom that promotes high expectations for academic success and behavior.Administer and analyze various assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.Collaborate professionally with grade-level teams, specialists, administrators, and parents/guardians to support student growth and school-wide goals.Integrate technology effectively into the curriculum to enhance instruction and student engagement.Supervise students in various school settings and actively participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development.QualificationsValid New York State Teacher Certification in an appropriate area (e.g., Childhood Education Grades 1-6 or N-6).Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.Prior successful experience teaching elementary grades is strongly preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in elementary education, curriculum development, and classroom management.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.A strong commitment to the Elmsford UFSD's mission of academic excellence.
