Evergreen Charter High School will open in August 2025 in the heart of Hempstead, a state-of-the-art secondary school, serving students in grades 7-12. This will be the first secondary school in NY State whose building will receive Platinum LEED status. SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS The Administrator oversees school operations and all matters that concern the school, including compliance, communications, staff evaluations, and school facilities. They ensure compliance with the school’s approved charter, board policies, applicable state and federal laws, and NYSED regulations. The School Administrator maintains open channels of communication with families, parents, students, the school’s staff, and the community, towards the achievement of the school’s goals and objectives, as well as school practices and policies. They supervise full-time and part-time staff and will perform duties as assigned by the Superintendent. The School Administrator will have knowledge and understanding of:The vision and mission of the ECS, including its commitment to promote the physical, social, emotional, and moral growth of all its students in a nurturing, inclusive environment with high expectations, inspiring every student to recognize their potential and realize their dreamsImplementing methods for effectively communicating high standards and high expectations for student achievementConducting classroom visits and periodic observations, providing constructive feedback to faculty and staff, and suggesting models of effective teaching techniques when neededFostering a caring, growth-oriented environment for faculty and students, one in which high expectations and high standards for student achievement are emphasizedThe School Administrator will work to bridge the gaps between home, school and community to ensure seamless transitions and high-quality learning environments for childrenEnhancing school effectiveness by appropriately integrating the processes of teacher selection/evaluation and professional development with school improvement The School Administrator will be committed to:?
