This position is for Middle School Grades 5-8 and involves coordinating and administering the NYSITELL and NYSESLAT assessments in conjunction with building staff and administration.RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborate with fellow grade and or subject level teachers to plan instructionFacilitate learning by designing lessons for whole class and small group instructionImplement formative and summative assessments and analyze the data to inform further instructionQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university, Master's Degree preferredValid New York State ESOL or TESOL Teacher CertificationKnowledge and experience in preparing students for the NYSESLAT/NYSITELLCommitment to education standards, formative assessments, and accountabilityBelief in a structured environment for childrenTeaching guided by the New York State English As A Second Language standards and the ELA StandardsPush-in classroom to support instruction for ENLsSmall group pulled out of mainstream for instructionDesign lesson plans that support acquisition of EnglishIntegrate technology in instructional delivery when appropriateMaintain a positive learning community where students are engaged in meaningful instructionAdminister assessments to measure student growth and progress
