Evergreen Charter School is seeking a First Grade Teacher. The mission of Evergreen Charter School (ECS) is to nurture the intellectual, physical and social development of children, through a comprehensive program that promotes academic excellence and prepares its students for success in school and in life.The First Grade Teacher responsibilities include, and are not limited to, the following:Monitor student learning and provide academic instruction by implementing the curriculum with fidelity, and using data for driving instruction.Create a positive, structured learning environment to ensure that students observe the school’s core values and high expectations.Prepare lesson plans aligned with the set curriculum including differentiated instruction based on the students’ strengths and different learning styles.Implement effective classroom management based on pedagogical practice.Commit to professional growth, participating actively in department meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development initiatives.Participate in the extracurricular activities hosted at ECS, collaborate within the team, and meet all professional responsibilities.Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues.Education:Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree is preferred.Qualifications:Valid New York State Certification (Birth-2 or Grades 1-6)Successfully cleared background check.Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: 605 Peninsula Blvd., Hempstead, New York 11550 Job Type: Full-time (Monday -Friday) Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceRetirement planVision insurance
