The Wantagh UFSD is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and thoughtful studies teacher to fill a leave replacement position through the end of the school year at the secondary level to teach four sections of eighth grade social studies and one section of eleventh grade U.S. History.The successful candidate should:promote a positive classroom environment that focuses on student-centered and student-driven learning experiencespossess a deep understanding of and proficiency in the New York State Next Generation Social Studies Standards and the NYS U.S. History Regents examwork well in collaborative pairs to deliver instructiondevelop and implement differentiated lessons that are consistent with the district’s goals and vision for learningenhance and facilitate critical learning processes by seeking out, acquiring, and sharing the most pertinent and up-to-date resources (print, electronic, audiovisual) with students, faculty, and other community memberscollaborate with colleagues to horizontally and vertically align curriculum, enhance instructional practices, and meet district academic goalssupport students in becoming civic-minded, empathetic, and caring learners and citizenseffectively communicate with students and their families
