The Wantagh School District is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Girls Flag Football Coaches to lead and develop our High School program. The ideal candidates will foster a positive, inclusive and competitive team environment while promoting sportsmanship, skill development, and personal growth for all student-athletes.Position: Girls Flag Football Coach:Varsity Head Coach, Varsity Assistant Coach, JV Head CoachSeason: Spring 2026Responsibilities:Plan, organize and supervise all practices, games and team activities.Teach fundamental skills, game strategies and proper techniques in alignment with District and NYSPHSAA guidelines.Promote a safe and respectful environment for all athletes.Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, athletic trainers and the athletic department.Manage equipment, uniforms and inventory responsibly.Ensure academic monitoring and character development of student-athletes.Attend all required coaching meetings, training and certifications.Qualifications:Previous coaching experience preferred; experience in flag football, football or related sport is an asset.Ability to teach and demonstrate sport-specific skills.Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to season start).Must meet all NYSED and District coaching certification requirements.
