Required Qualifications : NYS School Psychologist Certification Candidates with a BCBA certification or expertise in addressing challenging behaviors through Positive Support Plans are strongly encouraged to apply Position Details : The Wantagh UFSD is seeking a skilled, caring, and dynamic School Psychologist who is able to perform the professional responsibilities below: Experience in administering, scoring, and writing psychological evaluations. Provide individual or group counseling sessions for students. Consultation services to teachers and parents for students with academic, social, and/or emotional challenges Crisis Intervention Ability to effectively facilitate group decision making processes to meet the needs of the student Skilled in data collection and effective positive behavior intervention strategies. Experience writing Positive Behavior Support Plans Classroom presentation on social/emotional skills Liaison between home, school, and outside resources Knowledge of current federal and state regulations governing CSE and Section 504. Knowledge of Response to Intervention, MTSS processes and experience with IST meetings Highly effective written and verbal communication skills. Serve as Chairperson for CSE meetings and 504 Meetings and complete all necessary paperwork including PWNs Review and edit all sections of the IEP
