Work Based Learning Coordinator will work with CTE instructors and business partners to develop work experiences and internships for students enrolled in CTE Programs. The purpose is to engage students with employers to provide structured learning experiences in real world settings related to the students CTE program. For this specific position the successful candidate will have knowledge in the following areas:Documentation for Work Based Learning and CDOS requirementsDevelop internship opportunities for students in cooperation with CTE instructors.Monitor and report on student progress toward hours completion.Implement / Monitor Work Based Learning RegulationsOrganize and plan Work-based Learning opportunities to support program curriculumCollaborate with students and mentors to promote understanding of internship goals.Collaborate with CTE Instructors and Business partners to identify and develop meaningful Work-based learning and internship experiences for studentsAssist in preparing students for interviews and placements to businessesUse performance-based measurement Work-Based Learning plan and/or as measure of competencies and skill-building tool, and as a support for employerComplete and manage all paperwork related to work-based learning/internship experiencesServe as a liaison to businesses after placement to troubleshoot issues in a professional mannerCollect and submit participant data or reports on scheduled deadlines in required formatWork-based learning services would include assisting staff and students with successful workplace transitions. The work-based learning experience counts towards the completion of credentials. Students can earn high school credit for participating in a work-based learning experience.Prepare a daily/weekly schedule and share with CTE Principal as requestedPerform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as directed by the PrincipalQualifications:Must be NYS certified or certifiable in: Applicant MUST hold a base certification in:Any CTE area (this excludes Trans A holders); Any classroom teacher 5-9 certification; Any classroom teacher 7-12 certification; or Any School Counselor certification.WBL Career Awareness Extension:300 Clock Hours of applicable work experience outside of the classroomWork Experience MUST be in field related to subject area sought (business, health care, technical, the trades)WBL Career Development Extension:600 Clock Hours of applicable work experience outside of the classroom;Work Experience MUST be in field related to subject area sought (business, health care, technical, the trades)The successful candidate will have experience and skills:Bachelor’s Degree required and a minimum of 3 years related experience NYS WBL CertificationEffective Marketing Skills for employer recruitmentStrong Communication and written skills are requiredExperience working independently on projects and as a fluid member of a team.Strong understanding of the local labor market and the community within the region***For the CTE Certification path, the successful candidate will need to provide letters of occupational experience to become certified in NYS. BOCES will guide the candidate through the process of becoming certified, but all fees are the responsibility of the candidate.
