Donald Myers Education Center, Saratoga SpringsWork Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am-2:45pm The Teaching Assistant will provide instructional and other support to teachers and students in CTE programs. CTE programs focus on preparing high school students for careers in fields like technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and more. Your role will be to assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging, hands-on lessons that help students develop the skills and knowledge they need for success in their chosen career path. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the lead teacher in planning and preparing CTE lesson plans, activities, and course materials;Help facilitate classroom and lab instruction, working one-on-one or in small groups with students;Monitor and support students as they work on projects, labs, and other hands-on learning activities;Record and keep records, and help maintain the CTE classroom/lab environment;Provide tutoring, mentoring, and other acadmic support to help students succeed;Communicate with students, parents, and other school staff ad needed;Attend CTE-related professional development workshops and training as needed;Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students;Participate in staff development and training to maintain or develop increased professional capacity;Other duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements:Graduation from high school or a minimum of 18 college credit hours completed, with 60 credit hours preferred;Certified* or certifiable* as a teaching assistant.Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.*Certified and certifiable means that either you presently hold any level of the Teaching Assistant certificate issued by NYS Education Department OR you can obtain the introductory Teaching Assistant certificate with NYSED.
