Wheelerville Union Free School is looking for a Director of Facilities II. This is a provisional civil service position and the applicant must meet the requirements to become a permanent position. Candidates will provide scheduled maintenance of building equipment, installation and service of equipment and materials, design small construction and maintenance projects, procure and install equipment/materials, and respond to emergency calls. The candidate will be responsible for snow removal. Candidates must have current skills and knowledge of carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, oil-fired hot water boiler knowledge, ability to acquire DOH Grade C Distribution System Water Operator Certification. Commercial cleaning experience and maintenance of grounds, athletic fields, and playgrounds. The candidate will supervise a small number of staff. Candidates must create budgets, attend meetings, and understand safety and security measures. Must be available to work overtime as needed, and have a valid driver's license.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Open Competitive: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma AND one of the following:(A) A Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture and two years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work, or construction management, one year of which must have been at a supervisory* level.; or(B) An Associate’s or higher-level degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction Technology or Architectural Technology and four years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work, or construction management, one year of which must have been at a supervisory* level; or(C) Six years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair work, or construction management, one year of which must have been at a supervisory* level; or.(D) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined in (A), (B) and (C) above.Benefits:Term Life Insurance, Health, Dental, and Vision PlanFlexible Spending AccountPlease submit a resume, references and a cover letter on OLAS.
