The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Permanent Substitute Teacher. The successful candidate must possess a valid NYS Teaching Certification. Additional qualifications/requirements are outlined below. Review and implement classroom teachers’ routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives. Record accurate student attendance. Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms. Monitor students’ understanding of subjects and assist in a positive, encouraging manner. Disseminate materials for lesson plans, according to the classroom teacher’s instructions. Supervise students during all classroom activities throughout the day. Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment. Maintain appropriate classroom management. Report student injuries, illness, and behavior concerns to school administration. Perform other duties as directed by the school administration.
