The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of High School Assistant Principal in a 10-12 school building. The successful candidate must possess valid NYS certification. Additional qualifications and requirements are below. Job Duties:Assist Principal in the development, supervision, and evaluation of instructional programs.Assist in the selection, assignment, orientation, and evaluation of staff.Assist in the formulation and implementation of professional development activities.Serve as program administrator for a designated grade level/content area, when needed.Articulate school programs and initiatives to parents and the community.Assist in interpreting and enforcing Board of Education policies and regulations.Assist with student attendance, as well as the attendance appeal process.Supervise the use and maintenance of facilities; evaluate monitors and custodians.Assist in the preparation of the school’s annual budget and the master schedule.Assist in the supervision and coordination of student discipline and welfare.Prepare state and federal educational reports and submit them to district administrator.Contribute to a positive school climate and supportive learning environment.Perform other job-related tasks; assume other responsibilities as assigned by the PrincipalQualifications:Valid New York State School Building Leader (SBL) certification.Thorough knowledge of state learning standards, CRSE Framework and annual professional performance reviews (APPR).Experience with teacher supervision and evaluations.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Proven analytic and critical thinking skills.Strong data reporting and analysis skills.Able to foster collaborative and productive relationships with faculty and administrators.Experience designing and implementing innovative, data-driven instructional and professional development programs.Salary: Compensation is competitive and at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools.The Board of Education, its officers and employees, will not discriminate in its programs and activities on the basis of legally protected classes, such as, but not limited to: race (including traits historically associated with race , such as hair texture and protective hairstyles like braids, locks, and twists), color, national origin, creed, religion (including religious practices), marital status, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition), age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (i.e. actual or perceived gender-related identify, appearance, behavior, expression or other gender-related characteristic regardless of the sex assigned to that person at birth, including but not limited to the status of being transgender, disability (physical or mental), predisposing genetic characteristic, military work or status, domestic violence victim status, citizenship/immigration status or use of a guide dog, hearing dog, or service dog, as applicable.
