The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of ENL Teacher - Leave Replacement. The successful candidates must possess valid NYS certification. Additional qualifications/requirements are outlined below. Qualifications/Responsibilities: Ability to design lessons and materials that address the NYS CRSE Framework while supporting and challenging students in a rigorous academic environment Experience working with middle and high school students, preferably in ENL. Strong understanding of literacy development, second language acquisition, and differentiated instructional strategies. Proficient in the use of differentiated instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Demonstrate the ability to support a diverse community of learners, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities. Support academic, social and emotional well-being of students by creating an engaging learning environment that encourages student growth in both language acquisition and content knowledge. Ability to build positive relationships with students and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and classroom management skills. Salary : Compensation is at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools, and in accordance with the negotiated contracts between the Valley Stream CHSD and the Valley Stream Teachers’ Association (VSTA).
