The salary and benefits for this position are stated in the current teacher contract.QualificationsNew York State K-12 Music CertificationExperience in elementary music education preferred.Knowledge of instrumental music pedagogy.Knowledge of Gordon Music Learning Theory, Orff, and Kodaly methodologies desired.Strong accompaniment skills desired.Ability to direct a large group music ensemble.ResponsibilitiesTo teach general music classes and instrumental lessons within the guidelines and curriculum of the school district.To direct and prepare the fifth-grade band for scheduled school performances.To participate cooperatively with the school administration in the evaluation process in conformance with district guidelines.To communicate regularly with parents and teachers on a pupil’s progress.Application Procedures: Apply through OLASWrite a letter of interest in the position.
