Salary will be as a per diem substitute. QualificationsNew York State K-12 Music CertificationExperience in elementary music education preferred.Knowledge of instrumental music pedagogy.Knowledge of Gordon Music Learning Theory, Orff, and Kodaly methodologies desired.Strong accompaniment skills desired.Ability to direct a large group music ensemble.Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. ResponsibilitiesTo teach general music classes and instrumental lessons within the guidelines and curriculum of the school district.To direct and prepare the fifth grade band for scheduled school performances.To participate cooperatively with the school administration in the evaluation process in conformance with district guidelines.To communicate regularly with parents and teachers on a pupil’s progress.
