Bouton High SchoolVoorheesville, New York 12186 Notice of Vacancy Assistant Principal/ DEI LiaisonThe position of Secondary (grades 6-12) Assistant Principal/DEI Liaison is a probationary position that serves as a part of the school’s leadership team and reports to the building principals. This position is an integral part of the building’s leadership team and will support in the overall administration of the secondary campus including all facets of the daily operations of the school. Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is everyone’s responsibility at VCSD. This DEI Liaison will be a partner in coordinating building/district DEI programs/initiatives with principal supervision. Collaborates with school stakeholders in shaping a school culture that maintains discipline and structure while creating a welcoming learning environment. Coordinate and assist in the implementation of DEI practices for all school community stakeholders. Assists with campus supervision and in the development of campus control/security. Support conflict-resolution challenges with the student body, and collaborates with the building’s administrative team to develop and facilitate appropriate restorative practices and procedures resulting in meaningful, fair, and effective disciplinary actions for students. Assists in managing extra-curricular activities. Assists in the preparation of the master schedule, (schedule of classes), and student schedules. Assist in the supervision and evaluation for all personnel, both instructional and non- instructional, providing APPR support to the Principals, as needed Performs role of DASA Coordinator. Assists in the coordination of the building-level emergency response plan, the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities. Performs such record-keeping and reporting functions as the Principal may direct. Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Principals may assign. Will serve as building leadership in the absence of principal. Partners with building and district leadership to align initiatives. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may from time to time assign.Required Qualifications: School District Administrator (SDA), School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS, or School Building Leader (SBL) certificate required. Must have a minimum of 4 years classroom experience;instructional leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of research based instructional/behavioral strategies. Ability to relate to the age-appropriate student cohort and demonstrate a commitment to their social-emotional, physical, and academic well-being. Committed to equity informed practices. Dedicated to education equity, inclusion, and academic excellence as well as a willingness to advance equity access to programs for all students. Commitment to trauma informed care and restorative practices. Understands and develops a climate of collegiality and cooperation for parent/guardians, staff, and students. Skilled at using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Demonstrated expertise in the use of data to identify and address areas of concern on multiple levels. Strong engagement skills and understanding of strategies for both students, staff, and parents/guardians.
