Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a not-for-profit agency providing quality educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities. We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Social Worker (bi-lingual Spanish preferred). Our facilities are located in Syosset, NY and Levittown, NY.The Social Worker helps individuals, families and groups deal with and change behaviors, emotions, attitudes, relationships, and social conditions to restore and enhance their capacity to meet personal and social needs. A social worker is assigned to each family to help them understand their child’s disability and the effect on the family system. Social workers do work individually with parents, as a couple or in a group setting.Educational/Certification Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work and Current NYSED registration as a LCSW or LMSW.Preferred experience working with children with complex physical and communication needs.Full Time: Monday-Friday: 7:30am-3:00pm or; 8:00am-3:30pm (Benefit Eligible)Our school operates 12 months. Full Time Social Workers work 212 days/year.The employee is required to be non-sedentary. Security clearances such as Fingerprinting, NYS criminal background check and annual medical required.COVID-19 considerations: Must be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19. If the school closes due to a COVID-19 related circumstance, you must have the ability to work remotely, including but not limited to internet access and device that you can work from (smart phone, I-pad, lap-top).
