DUTIES: Working under the general supervision of a certified teacher, teaching assistant expectations are:• Work with individual students or groups of students on special instructional projects.• Provide the teacher with information about students that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences.• Assist students in the use of available instructional resources, and assist in the development of instructional materials as requested by the teacher.• Provide instruction using consultation and teacher developed materials on a limited basis• Utilize their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as: foreign languages, arts, crafts, music and similar projects; • Assist in related instructional work and duties as required.* This program prepares students for professional salon environments through the study of hair, skin, and nail care, requiring 1,000 hours of instruction for NYS certification.
