TITLE: Long Term Substitute SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Affiliation: NoneFull Time, temporary - Through end of June or until filled w/ certified teacher Exceptional Education Department Location: TST BOCES Smith SchoolDUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching including but not limited to the development, implementation of Essential Elements Standards/Curriculum, instruction, assessment, student supervision, home/school communication, etc. Ability to differentiate instruction is a necessity as students work towards the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential. Provide instruction to students with Autism whose communication and sensory needs significantly impact their learning. Previous experience working with students with Autism is preferred. Ability to work well on a diverse multi-disciplinary team is essential. Maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations. Perform other duties as required.Setting is in an 8:1:1 BOCES program.QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities Grades K-1, 1-6 or Permanent New York State Special Education Certification K-12. is preferred, but not required START DATE: January 5, 2026 or as soon as possible (position is expected to last until June 26, 2026 or until a certified teacher is hired)SALARY: Substitute teacher rate = $135.00 per day. ($125 uncertified) Substitute Teacher that works for a period of up to 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be paid at a daily rate. A Long-Term Substitute Teacher works more than 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be at a rate of 1/200 of an annual salary. The annual salary will be calculated as if the substitute were being hired for a regular appointment.
