TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Certified PositionBranches Program Affiliation: Teachers’ Association Full Time, 10-month Location: BOCES Smith School Exceptional Education Department DUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching including but not limited to the development, implementation of Essential Elements Standards/Curriculum, instruction, assessment, student supervision, home/school communication, etc. Ability to differentiate instruction is a necessity as students work towards the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential. Provide instruction to students with Autism whose communication and sensory needs significantly impact their learning. Previous experience working with students with Autism is preferred. Ability to work well on a diverse multi-disciplinary team is essential. Maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations. Perform other duties as required. Setting is in an 8:1:1 BOCES program. Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6 OR 7-12, or Permanent New York State Special Education Certification K-12.START DATE: October 10, 2025SALARY: $56,500 (2025-2026 base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Masters Degree and Grad Credits.
