TITLE: ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR Affiliation: SEIU (Student Services Advisor) Adult Education Department Part-Time, 12-month hourly position, 29 hours per week Location: 118 North Tioga Street, Ithaca NY DUTIES: Oversee intakes for Adult Education programs; administer appropriate pretests and posttests to assess student progress; advise student class placements.Work with students in meeting performance milestones, collect program data, manage files, analyze, keep case notes, prepare, and submit payment vouchers.Maintain regular contact with community and program partners, such as: DSS referring employment unit, Women’s opportunity Center, Tompkins Workforce New York, Challenge, BOCES programs, outreach and liaison with other community agencies and OTDA staff. Attend monthly Partner Meetings.Guide and instruct adult students in career planning.Participate in the department data team and meet with the Adult Education Director and Supervisors as needed.Market the program, create promotional materials, and make presentations. Perform other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree. Must possess or obtain within 3 months of hire a NYS Adult Education Instructor Certification in one of the following areas: Assessment & Advisement Instructor, Job Skills Training Instructor, or Work Experience Instructor. Previous Experience working with or teaching adults is preferred. Previous experience with social service clients and work experience in service provider agencies, as well as following and meeting compliance regulations and state vouchering is desirable. Preferred Skills:Ability to pay close attention to detail and experience with Google Suite.Enthusiastic willingness to provide excellent customer service.Growth mindset.Demonstrated skill in meeting deadlines and working in a collaborative team.START DATE: May 13, 2034 SALARY: $30.81/hour.
