TITLE: BUSINESS & INDUSTRY TRAINER: Cosmetology Part-time, Hourly Position Location: T-S-T BOCES Campus 1000 hour program offered as needed Adult Education Department Must be able to explain and teach adult students from various backgrounds, cultures, ages and experience levels and provide comprehensive Cosmetology instruction in theories and technical applications. The position involves teaching and evaluating students in concepts and salon procedures as well as performing related work as required. DUTIES: Ability to communicate effectively with adult learners and to maintain good relationships with staff and students.Ability to demonstrate competence in areas expected to teach.Ability to plan, organize and communicate quality instruction.Maintain student attendance records and NY State Board required records.Prepare lesson plans and activities; prepare and oversee student projects and salon operations.Administer text material exams and NY State Board mock examinations.Maintains safe and sanitary practices to be followed by all students, instructors, and internal and external guests.Attend scheduled meetingsMaintain and supervise proper use of products, supplies, implements, and equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess NYS Cosmetology License and 3 years of professional experience. START DATE: As soon as possible (20-hour program offered throughout the year as needed. Class times may vary with possible evenings, Saturdays and/or some daytime classes scheduled – TBD.) SALARY: $44.22 per/hour.
