TITLE: ART TEACHER (VISUAL ARTS) Certified Position Full-time, 10-Month, + up to 10 summer days Affiliation: Teachers’ Association P-Tech Academy Location: TC3 Campus, Dryden TST P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) is an innovative program that blends high school, college, and workplace learning through a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach with a focus on technology and STEAM. Students will have up to six years to receive both a high school diploma and a free associate’s degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3), along with real-world experience and essential soft skills. We are a close-knit, forward-thinking team committed to reimagining education for the 21st century. By collaborating with TC3, business partners, and one another, we design meaningful and relevant learning experiences that empower all students to take ownership of their education and prepare for the future. DUTIES: Curriculum Development and Delivery: • Curriculum Development & Instruction: Create, plan, and implement engaging art lessons that teach artistic techniques while aligning with art standards and P-TECH program pathways and goals. • Collaborate with industry partners and the P-TECH team to design projects that directly relate to careers in fields such as digital design, multimedia, and commercial art. • Work in a co-teaching setting where project-based learning, problem-solving, and real-world applications are the curriculum which is used to enhance student engagement and understanding. • Integrate literacy strategies ensuring students build strong reading, writing, and communication skills. • Deeper level of understanding of design theory and design thinking to teach students how to go from problem to purpose. • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to cater to diverse learning styles and needs. • Demonstrate commitment to equity, inclusion, and an assets-based approach to supporting all students, especially students who have been historically marginalized. • Embrace Technology and Digital Learning. • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, using data to inform instructional adjustments and improve student outcomes. P-TECH Program Integration: • Collaborate with staff and teachers, industry partners, and college faculty to align curriculum and create relevant learning experiences. • Support students in their dual enrollment efforts and monitor their progress in college courses. • Track and monitor student data, including grades, attendance, and progress towards both high school and college graduation requirements. Student Support and Guidance: • Provide individualized academic support and guidance through design theory and time management. • Collaborate with parents, counselor/social worker, and other stakeholders to ensure students receive the necessary support to thrive in the P-TECH program. • Familiarity with current design trends, technology, and industry-level software and tools. Professional Development: • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in Art instruction and P-TECH program implementation. • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, analyze student data, and develop innovative teaching strategies. • Engage in reflective practice to continuously improve teaching effectiveness. QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Certification in Art Education (Visual Arts K-12). In addition, our areas of focus include: Digital Photography and Media Arts, Graphic Design and Commercial Art, 3D Design and Animation, and Engineering-focused service learning and/or design thinking START DATE: September 1, 2026 SALARY: $58,000 (2026-2027 full-time base salary), additional salary credit for relevant experience and/or education.
