TITLE: REGIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL PLATO PROGRAM HEAD TEACHER Location: Site – TST BOCES Campus, 555 Warren Road, Ithaca, NYProgram Dates: (07/10/2023 – 08/17/2023) RESPONSIBILITIES: The Head Teacher will coordinate the Plato program to best meet the needs of all of the individual students and modify the program as needed. The Head Teacher will communicate with parents and school districts. Head Teacher will perform all other tasks related to the smooth operations of the Regional Summer School Plato Program (grades 7-12). QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teaching Certification (preferably at the secondary level).At least 3 years of successful teaching experience is required. Knowledge of New York State Learning Standards. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong work ethic. Ability to establish rapport and professional relationships with, and support and motivate secondary level students, parents, and staff. Teacher must be collaborative, student centered and a creative and effective problem solver. INCLUSIVE SUMMER WORK DATES: July 10 – August 15, 2023 (Program dates); additional hours to be determined for June 2023 (up to 10 hours) pertaining to planning and program development purposes. *All staff are required to attend an orientation meeting on June 12th at 3:30pm ANTICIPATED START DATE: Approximately June 1, 2023 (hours of work are flexible, up to a maximum of 10 hours for setup).
